Sheep - Toddler crafts, activities and resources

Sheep crafts, activities and resources for toddlers

Sheep crafts

This black sheep collage craft uses bubble printing to make the sheep, a really fun way to paint for little ones (although check that they know the difference between blow and suck first!)

You can make a really simple sheep like this one by providing your toddler with an outline and helping them to stick cotton wool all over it. This sheep craft is very similar and uses the child's handprint as the base for the body.

Use this printable to make a simple sheep finger puppet.

Sheep activities

It's quite easy to find sheep to visit, either at a local farm or just in the fields. Remember that pregnant ladies should avoid sheep during the spring lambing season. Keep an eye out locally for country fairs and so on, for example we have a yearly sheep fair very local to us.

Here are lots of sheep colouring pages, as well as ones that can be used to make sheep lacing games and printables.

Sheep books

Baa, Baa, Black Sheep!: BSL (Sign & Singalong) - Baa Baa Black Sheep was the first song that my son learned to sing. This book teaches children the signs as they sing so that they can communicate with you before they learn to talk.

Where Is the Green Sheep? - A lovely story with simple illustrations.

Amazing Baby - Baa Baa Black Sheep - Perfect for babies with a lovely soft sheep to touch.

Chunky Farm Sheep - An easy to hold book in the shape of a sheep that toddlers can actually play with.

Sheep toys

Britains 40967 - Sheep- Some lovely toy sheep that are realistic and yet still perfect for little hands to play with.

Jellycat Bashfuls 31cm Sheep - A gorgeous stuffed sheep.

Amazing Wool Growing Sheep - A fun science experiment for parents to set up and toddlers to observe, grow a coat for the sheep from crystals.

VTech Lullaby Light-Up Lamb - Lull your baby off to sleep with this lovely musical lamb.
