Book review - Doug the Bug that went Boing

Doug the Bug that went Boing features the latest character to emerge from the Wonderful World of Sue Hendra. We've already reviewed No-Bot - The Robot with no Bottom - which was a big hit with my children, and Doug the Bug has become another favourite.

Doug the Bug is happily playing Berry Ball in the garden with his best friend Trevor, but after an argument Doug is accidentally dug up and finds himself in a flower pot, way up on a high windowsill. He enlists a dizzy, buzzing fly to help him find his way back out to the garden, and after a few narrow escapes he is reunited with Trevor and has a new friend.

I love the bright cheerful illustrations in this book, and the fun, friendly story with the cheerful bugs and their happy smiles. I think that this book would appeal to toddlers and and pre-schoolers, and there's enough interesting text in there to appeal to older children too.

I received a copy of the book to review, Amazon links are affiliate.
